November 26, 2004

It has been a rather long time sincei last updated my blog. All because the Internet has been hanging so seriously that it out me off from updating my blog, even coming to internet is a waste of time, cuz a page would take like only a few seconds to load, but the time i gotta wait for to to "finish" hanging is so darn long.

Well, anyway, my holidays are considered rather well-spent. I have fully indulged myself in relaxing. slacking, slumming, being a potato-couch, and of course, how can i leave out the time spent on retail-therapy. That's the best part.

I went into Watsons today, wanting to get the Cortry mask i had been wanting to get. As soon as i stepped into this favourite store of mine, a promoter from Extrim approached me. Well, i'm rather used to it. I sort of considered an expert in replying them already. Geez.. When i finally got to the facial care shelves, a lady from Cortry aproached. Thank god i was ready to get the product or i'll have to start my routine statements again. I'm trying the Henna Treatment Wax, for hair, from Watsons. Hopefully it works.

And Ooh..i went to the salon today to get my hair trimmed and dyed. I rejected all other recommendations for better treatments, hi-lite, bleach, bla bla bla, and faithfully stuck to my $50 budget. Since i wasnt willing to part with more of my money, i choose a rather dark brown colour tone. Geez..At least one can see there are some changes made to my hair.

One thing that's a big load off my shoulders is the organisation of my primary school gathering. We have decided to set it on 2nd dec 2004, since that's the date the majority is free, for dinner. We had initially planned to have a chalet, but the shortened holidays and the "business" of everyone killed the idea. Think i gotta be thankful that this dinner is still considered successful. Til now, we have 14 people who have confirmed their arrivals. 4 have yet to board the plane. Last call for all passengers. Please contact our staff and board the plane immediately. Geez. Yeah!~ Looking forward!~

Another thing, CHer met me today to pass me my present. WooHoo!~ It's a set of things i like so much but couldnt bear to buy it for myself. Love the present. In fact, this birthday has to be one of those that i got the best presents. The thought alone brings the feeling for being fortunate to have friends and family who really care about me, who takes the effort to do something for me, and who care about my existence. ChEeRs!~ haha..Now that i'm finally 18, i can officially use alchohol to toast(not that i had nv done tt..haha).

So here's the song again: "Happy, sha la la. It's so nice to be happy, sha la la. Everybody should be happy, sha la la. Woo!~" Haha..

Summary of the whole holidays(even thought there's still 2 more weeks to go..): it's been simply great!~.

Well, i've like talked about quite a lot of stuff. I'm long-winded, remember? My compositions used to always shoot way past the maximum number of words required. Every y teacher often ask me to shorten what i wana express. Go straight to the point, dont beat around the bush. Alright. I wont hear any of these words anymore. Cuz what i have to do now is to lengthen my articles. Geez...1500 words isnt that easy to attain, but if you have a great topic in mind and all the info just pops up whenever you need them, complete with never-ending supply of vocabulary to fill in your blanks, then there'll be no problem at all. Geez.
Right, i told you i'm long-winded.

Well, well, Til Then Folks!~ ChEeRs!~

16th's and 18th's birthday celebration

It all began with my birthday's celebrations..(after my birthday..geez..)

16th November 2004

The dear ladies, namely Nina, Carine, and Clarice, celebrated mine and rine's belated birthday. Gelare cafe was our choice. Since we were to have lunch there, everyone had not eaten much, or not eaten in the morning, ready to pamper ourselves with great yummilicious food later on at Gelare.

After some, ok, much gossiping and eatting, we proceeded to shop around Far east plaza, the first stop.

"Xueqing, quick pick something. You pick, we pay"
Woah..love that feeling, you pick, and someone else pays. Geez.. And so, we walked around level one in search of something for me. Along the way, a purple handbag caught my eye, but i didn't stop the gals cuz i wasnt sure if i wanted that as my present and that if it would be too ex. Then we went on to level two, and i thought i wanted that hangbag i had seen earlier on.

"Eh, i think i like the bag i saw on level one."
So, we went back to that store. The shop was filled with silver, gold, and furry bags. All those stylish bags confused me. I wasnt that sure i wanted that purple bag afterall. Every bag looks so attractive, every one i picked up looks so desirable! Internal struggling took place.

"The purple one's better."
"Hmm...but the silver one looks good too."
"Maybe i should get something that's not me?"
"But this looks fabulous."
"I can bring that bag everywhere."

In the end, this bag won the battle...

Happily, and thankfully to my fabulous classmates(*muackz*..haha..), i brought this lovely thing back home.

There wasnt a photo taking session, probably our cheographers(Nity n Winz), wasnt around. Haha..

18th November 2004

HuiJuan, Yutang, HuiYing, and I went to Seoul garden at Taka at had a great time stuffing our stomachs with food, food, and....right, food.
I realised they started providing myfav..spaghetti!!~

Juan's yucky ice kachang..haha..

Yummy watermelon plus ice cream! *salivating..*

Cant wait for it to get cook! Hahahaha(laughs cheekily..)

Not even a single spick and spack on the plate!

"Oh? Are you taking my photo?"

"Here, here...We'll smile prettily for you.."

"Our turn..."

Here..Professor Reb will teach you how to savour your mussels.
Step 1 - Smile sweetly with your mussels at the camera.

Step 2 - Pry open the mussels with all your might! No mercy!
"There, there mussels, don't even think of escaping form my clutches. Hahaha.."

Step 3 - Savour your mussels gracefully.
"See, i told you. There no way you can run away. Heeheeheehee..(evil laugh..oops..)"

When we were concentrating on cooking our food...this bunch of 17 noisy kiddies made so much noise..

Well...since they were kids...i guess it's normal. Anyway, it's normal to be noisy when you're in a group huh? If it's too quiet, it'll seem like a meeting. Geez..

1st round...

2nd round...

3rd round!!! Scary huh?

Well..actualy, the 3rd round was just for Ying to boil her mussles and to fry some eggs. Geez...

Smilez, you're on camera!

We attempted to take a picture of 3 of us...
1st try...

2nd try...

And many more tries..we gave up..

"Excuse me, can you take a photo for us?"
Finally...

One more outside taka...

Okay, last one i promise...

Nope, this is taken unknowingly by Ying when Juan and I were talking...rather, laughing..

"Bye Ying.."

At 7pm, Lipeng reached Taka after a day's of work at some company for her attachment..She complained of hunger, but the 2 of us were still bloated(in Neopets terms..), and watched her gulp her burger down in a flash.

On the way home...

For unknown reasons, only my face was blurred..hmmm....

Blur Xiao Bai didnt know i was taking her picture...Ssshhh...

Half each..haha...

My presents for the day...(The thing on the furry bag...)

Thankz gals!~ I love all the presents! Happy, sha la la, it's so nice to be happy...sha la la..
---------------------------------------------------------------

After 2 days of fun with friends, it was a day out with my mum and brother. (19th November 2004)
Feeling extremely bored in the mrt...

"All i want for christmas are my front teeth.."

My pretty mum...;)

We watched "Shark Tale" at Tampines Mall. It was a rather entertaining show. We enjoyed the show a lot. Before the credits finish running pass the screen, as usual kiasu Singaporeans, everyone scrambled out of the theatre. Hahaha...and they missed the very last part of the show. Woohoo!~ Only another group if youngsters and us caught it. (Nany, nany, poo poo...) Hahahahahaha....

The morale of the story is, dont leave till the staff comes into the theatre to clean up and till the credits have all appeared. Cuz you never know if there's somemore to be shown. *Winkz*

Dinner time! We looked for Huimin at Century Square. Halfway there, we were pulled back by some shops and of course, some paper in my wallet just flew to the cashiers. Geez...

Our drinks...mine was Purple Fantasy...of course..hee...

Bro's "Ding xiao lu's" mixed rice...man..though it doesn't look that nice, it's really delicious!

This Tainan toast is superb!

Taiwan's "Yan Su Ji"(fried chicken with special spices..which tastes exactly like the Shihlin's XLarge Chicken)...Love it!~

Not forgetting our main course, the ramen...Simple, yet nice.

The dinner was great, and affordable. Highly recommeded...
On the way home...

-----------------------------------------------------------
Well, that's for now folks...gotta have my dinner...

Til then folks...ChEeRs!~ ;)

15th Nov 2004..My Birthday..

Clock--11:30pm

30 more mins and my birthday would be over. 18 is here, Bye 17.

18 years ago, at 5:40pm in some operation theatre in Gleaneges Hospital located somewhere near Tanglin Mall and opposite The British Council, this baby girl called Ng Hsueh Ching came into this world.

"Don't worry Mr Ng, your daughter's perfectly healthy. She cried the loudest."

Oh well...Thanks to the doctor's smack to make me cry. Dr Lawrence Chan. Hey, if you're reading this,(which obviously is impossible)a big Thank You to you for bringing me safely to this world after i refused to land on earth the normal way and chosed to be brought out of a cut.(Simply, cesarean.)

Courtesy of Dictionary.com:
Cesarean
adj : relating to abdominal delivery [syn: cesarian, caesarean, caesarian] n : the delivery of a fetus by surgical incision through the abdominal wall and uterus (from the belief that Julius Caesar was born that way) [syn: cesarean delivery, caesarean delivery, cesarean section, cesarian section, caesarean section, C-section, cesarian, caesarean, abdominal delivery]

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
14th November 2004. 12 midnight crept pass silently.
Messages pounced in one by one. HuiMin, Ching, Carine, Cheryl, and EckThiam. Engulfed with warmness, i smiled all the way to Dreamland.
When the sun shone bright this morning, another 3 messages awaited me. HuiJuan, Nina, and ShiHui. This day, plain water tasted like sugar solution to me.
"Happy Birthday" was evident in every message.
Of course. not forgetting Jolyn's early wishes 10 days ago, Cindy's e-card a day ago, and Gavin's MSN pop up window greeting "Happy birthday.." 20 mins ago. Most importantly, my parents' wishes last night. A sleepy "Happy Birthday!", but it meant so much to me.
Thankz all. Your simple gesture warmed my heart. Sounds cheesy? Nah..I would say it's mushy time. ;)
I used to think who in the world would remember my birthday. I'm just a nobody in this vast world. If anyone remembers my birthday, or even notice my existence, I'm rather thankful. (Alright, i'm just getting emotional, for no specific reason.)
No one owes anyone anything in this world, nothing is for granted. When someone helps me, i would be grateful, cuz there's no need for the person to help you. That's why i normally make an effort to say a simple "Thank you". If I ever forgotten, here's one, "Thank you". Simple enough, but I think it carries your sincerity.
However, i realised it's hard to say "Thanks" to people close to you. For eg, your family members and/or your closest friends. It seems that we tend to take for granted that things should be done for you.
Hmm..Digressed? I think so too..
So here's my day today..
My family and I went to Kui**in Bo(no advertising fee, so no advertising.. ;>) for their lunch buffet. I must say their food is worth the price. I finally tried the paper mini steamboat. It was excellent! Loved the soup base. Then came the sushi, the tamago sushi was generously slapped on with a large piece of Jap-styled omelette. Their fried stuff was superb, complete with my favourite Jap-style curry sauce. My, I'm drooling... Their chawanmushi(steamed egg) was so delicious that my mum took another one. Man...and how could i have left the dessert out? The blueberry cheesecake virtually melts in your mouth(not in your hands!), and the Matcha(green tea) ice-cream was just nice, not too sweet or bland, perfect with some chocolate rice and minimum raisins. Thirsty? Head for the refreshing ice green tea just beside the ice cream machine or go for the orange juice or fruit punch!(just make sure you dont punch someone!..geez...lame huh?)
All of us were practically bursting after the sumptuous meal. My mum and I headed straight to the toilet. Yepz, you got it.
After much walking(as you know, suntec is oh-so-large)our legs begged to be given a rest. Not wanting to waste my birthday sitting in some shopping mall, allowing some people to watch us like monkeys(i'm sure you've experienced crazy pple staring at you for god-knows reasons), i sprung up and chased my family.
"Let's move on! I dont wana waste my birthday sitting around at some crowded people-packed shopping mall just to rest!"
Our long journey to where my dad's car was parked begun, we dragged our feets, determined to get past the crowd. From one suntec tower to the other.
On the way, we saw Michelle Chong and Terence Cao filming some varity show. Many quickly went forward, armed with their camera-phones. Gotcha, i was one of the exceptions who did not. Geez..
The first thing my mum said to me was, "You see, Michelle Chong's waist so small."
"Of course la, that's why TummyT**m(once again, no advertising fee, so no advertising ;>) wanted her to endorse their product ma." i replied.
Finally! Peace prevailed in the car.
At approx 9:30pm, out came my yummy Chocolate birthday cake. We sang the birthday song, i made 3 wishes, cut the cake, distributed, and of course, ate.
Geez..had quite a shopping spree.
Since MyPicGallery is down, the pics shall be posted at a later date until further notice.
Til Then Folks..ChEeRs to my 18th birthday!..;)
traumatised...
Upon reaching home after a sumptuous meal at my Granny's place, i sat down on my tattered and torn but still rather cosy sofa. As i channel surfed through the SCV channels, this programme on Discovery channel caught my eye. -----Zero Hour--The last hour of Flight 11.
It was on the last hour of the flight attendents and passengers of American Airline's Flight eleven boeing 747 on September 11, 2001.
They started with a day of a lady working in the WTO, setting off for work as usual. Her husband had wanted her to stay home to announced her first pregnancy to their family members. On the way to work, she bought another pregnancy kit to re-confirm that she was really pregnant. After some time, she reached the office, took her second test, and confirmed she was pregnant with their first child.
On the other hand, meanwhile, passengers of flight 11 were gradually boarding the plane, including the 5 terrorists.
It had been a great day with fine weather, the kind of weather that's just right for flying. Everyone on borad had been all excited at the trip. Businessmen were busy typing away on their laptops. The flight attendents were welcoming all passengers with their ever-so-bright smiles. Nobody had expected such a tragedy to happen.
Slowly, the time to attack arrived. The head of their so called "Great" mission gave the signal to start. Two of them started the snowball rolling by attacking a flight attendent. Thereafter, they barged into the cockpit and attacked the two poor pilots. Since the pilots had already been attacked, of course, they took over the flight.
After sevral attempts from the flight attendents to contact the people in the cockpit, the terrorists finally decided to make some comments.
"We are flying back to the airport. Do not move and you will be fine."
Little did they know that they had pushed the wrong button and these words had been transmitted to the control station on the ground. The people at the control station had been extremely worried, since the lost of contact of a plane is so very seldom. They suspected something wrong was going on, but they were not sure.
Being inexperienced at manouvering with planes, they made two sudden and major swerves. The next they did was to dive at an extremely rapid speed.
By this time, two flight attendents, Amy Sweeney, and Betty Ong, had managed to make calls to the ground. They had provided information on board very calmly. Although they were the only few whoo knew their plane had been hijacked. They revealed the identity of the passengers who hijacked the plane.
Six minutes later, the other flight was also hijacked by another group of five terrorists.
"I can see water, buildings. Many buildings all around. We're way too low."
These were the last words people from the control tower heard from Amy Sweeney.
The next thing, yepz, the plane crashed into the north tower. Before anyone could recover from the shock, the second plane crashed into the south tower.
Like Amy Sweeney's husband said, flight attendents are not just people who serve you food and show you the way to your seats on board. These few flight attendents had been really brave and calm under such circumstances. Would you still be that professional if you were the one?
With that, i salute all those who had bravely faced the challenge.
In just a blink, 3 years have creeped pass unknowingly. Wounds would heal, but memories wouldn't fade. Life has to go on. The battle against people with unsound mind and barbaric nature has just begun. Now i realise that safety in Sinapore cannot be taken for granted. The measure to have security guards patrolling in scools is necessary.
Well...Til Then Folks..Sleepy..looking rather forward to my birthday celebrations!~ ChEeErS!!~
Decided to give up workin...
I've decided to give up the thought of workin this holiday.
Firstly, it's such a short period of 5 weeks. Even if i've got a job, if i don't work 12 hours or around that, everyday, it wouldn't be a really substantial amount.
Secondly, i wana rot at home and prepare myself for another round of tedious projects and examinations the next semester.
Thirdly, i wana go on a tour! I wana travel! haha...My family's planning to go on a short trip to Malaysia, maybe Genting..hmmm.. Looking forward...But what's ironic is that til now, we haven booked the tour, cuz it's quite a last minute decision. Haha..
Well...back to my rotting days of watching tele...
Ooh..our planning of the Tanglin Pri Sch 1998 batch has started, haiz, hope most of the people would at least spare some time. Geez, let's hope for the best ya?
Til Then Folks...ChEeRs!!~ ;)
9th november 2004
V2(Min n Ching) celebrated my birthday for me in advance yesterday. Cher had things on and she counldn't come with us.
We met in the evening at Orchard cuz Ching had 2 papers in the day. Geez..rather tedious..
Had dinner at Ramen Tei. The ramen was ok, some not bad, but i like their prawn mayo better..haha..Here's a pic of us in Ramen Tei..
Since i realised i hadnt given them a decent treat beofre, i decided to. So i owe Cher a treat..remind me...;)
Thereafter, we went walkin around and tried some clothes at This Fashion..
Tada...
2 pretty girls...same dress..look a little like sisters huh...
Close-up..smilez~~
Thereafter, as usual, we went to our secret base(Ssshhhh..)to take some "artistic" pictures..*winkz*
At a reception desk..
Hee...
This photo looks like we're in a bar...geez..
After some chatting and gossiping, we proceeded home..
On my way home on the train..i sent this MMS to cher..tellin her that wemissed her and asked her to take care.
Cher had been really busy these days. Attachment alone is already draining her, plus recent happenings. This has not been a good year, i guess, but V3 will always stand by her whenever she needs us. That's what best friends are for right?
V4 will be friends forever. I promise. Whatever storms or hurricanes or typhoons(and etc), we will brave them together. Hmm...sounds cheesy, but it is true. ;) Hi^5 gals..
Til then folks..ChEeRs!!~ ;)
